Definitions
To
establish a common language for this document and FPS,
let's define the key elements seen throughout the software:
Asset
A deliverable, or group of deliverables, which is tracked
in the staging system. Examples include characters, props,
and images.
Sequence
A group of shots, usually comprising the shots that take
place in a given location or set of locations across
multiple editorial cuts.
Shot
A set of frames that make up a specific editorial cut,
along with the group of tasks that are working towards
producing these frames.
Take
Work submitted for review that is identified by a unique
tracking number and take number.
Take numbers
Sequentially
issued numbers unique within a task on a given sequence and
shot or asset.
Task
A
specific item of work, such
as modeling, animation, or lighting.
Tracking numbers
Sequentially issued numbers unique to the
show; meant to act as serial numbers for each piece of
artist work submitted for review.
