The FPS Interface
My Production View: My Tasks Tab
The My Production view is divided into three different sections: My Tasks, My Takes, and My Notes. Since FPS always opens to the last screen visited in the software, you may have to click the My Production view button at the top of the screen to navigate to that view. The My Tasks tab appears:
• View buttons: The FPS software contains views, tabs, and windows. There are five main views: My Production, Production, Assets, Takes, and Resources.
• Tab buttons: The My Production and Takes views also have subsections called tabs. My Production's subsections are My Tasks, My Takes, and My Notes.
• Sortable headings: The information on the My Tasks tab includes shot name or asset name, task, status, user (which should be your user name), department, due date, and estimated start date. Click any of these headers once to sort the window by the information in that column.
• List of assets, shots or sequences: The My Tasks tab of the My Production view shows you a list of your tasks.
Right-click a task to view this menu (showing Status sub-menu). We'll explain the options in this menu in a later section:
Double-click on any of the tasks to bring up more information in Asset Detail pop-up window. We'll go into more detail about this screen in the Key Functions section:
• Search bar: Type a key word or phrase here and the list appearing in the window above will automatically filter to match your inputs. There's no need to hit the Enter key. To erase a search and do a new one, simply drag and highlight then type over the entry currently in the search bar, or backspace if that is quicker.
• System actively searching database: This is the system clock, and will show a spinning color bar whenever the database is being accessed and requires time to return results to the window you're viewing.
• Notification boxes: At the bottom of the window are the system notification boxes. The left notification box shows a message whenever you have changed data (see example image below) and the changes have not yet been saved. The box on the right notifies you when you need to refresh the screen due to changing data behind the scenes that is different from the data on your screen.
Note: If both boxes are showing a message at the same time, saving your changes could overwrite changes made by someone else simultaneously to the same information.
• Save data button: Performs a save of any changes you've made.
• Refresh data button: Updates the information showing in the window with changes recently made by other users to the database.
My Production View: My Takes Tab
The My Takes tab of the My Production view shows you a list of takes that you have worked on. My Takes is good for tracking the history of rendered shots, and may be very useful for backtracking to a preferred take, seeing thumbnails of that take, and making notes on it.
